NZ Rum Definition

Members of Distilled Spirits Aotearoa involved in rum production have, by consensus, developed a standard for rum producers in New Zealand.
The aim of this definition is to protect, promote and grow our industry, to ensure that New Zealand is recognised as a premium quality rum-producing country.

The Definition is based on globally accepted international standards for rum.

The standard is: New Zealand Rum Definition – June 1 2022

New Zealand Rum is a spirit drink that has been produced in accordance with the above definition exclusively in New Zealand.
